The distribution graphs show the mean score,  the high score, and the low score. Personally identifiable information is never provided to students. However, this type of data may not be useful information for all courses, especially in small classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"745\" height=\"130\" src=\"https:\/\/edblogs.pugetsound.edu\/edtech\/files\/2023\/04\/GradeDistribution-1kkw7b4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-804\" srcset=\"https:\/\/edblogs.pugetsound.edu\/edtech\/files\/2023\/04\/GradeDistribution-1kkw7b4.png 745w, https:\/\/edblogs.pugetsound.edu\/edtech\/files\/2023\/04\/GradeDistribution-1kkw7b4-300x52.png 300w, https:\/\/edblogs.pugetsound.edu\/edtech\/files\/2023\/04\/GradeDistribution-1kkw7b4-500x87.png 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 745px) 100vw, 745px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Canvas sets the default global setting for grade distribution for all courses to be Enabled\/ON.\tWe cannot turn off the feature at the campus level, but it can be turned off at the course level by an instructor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the grade distribution graph is hidden, students can view their scores, but cannot view the mean, high, or low scores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To hide the graphs contact Educational Technology or follow the steps below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Click Settings in the course<\/li><li>Remain on the \u201cCourse Details\u201d tab, scroll down, and click the \u201cmore options\u201d link\ttowards the bottom of the settings page.\t<\/li><li>Under \u201cmore options,\u201d click the box next to \u201cHide grade distribution graphs from\tstudents.\u201d<\/li><li>Scroll down and click \u201cUpdate Course Details\u201d to save your changes so the graphs will no longer be visible to students.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>More information can be found here:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/t5\/Instructor-Guide\/How-do-I-hide-grade-distribution-scoring-details-from-students\/ta-p\/674\">https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/t5\/Instructor-Guide\/How-do-I-hide-grade-distribution-scoring-details-from-students\/ta-p\/674<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A default setting in Canvas is the student visibility of Grade Distribution Graphs.
